Idea in mind, pen in hand, no one in sight;  I am liberated.

A place for me to put my train of thoughts as I fumble, guess, and write my way through this crazy thing we call life.

Also, pay no attention to the timestamps on these posts.

I do my best work at night, okay? Don't judge me.

RECENT IDIOCY:

Getting started was overwhelming, the second week was probably the hardest. There’s a lot to learn, a lot to memorize, and the going is slower the less you know, so it was a fairly arduous process. It was not always easy to find relevant meaning in the cards or to see how the cards interacted with one another.

I reflect on my tarot journey as it comes to a close.

Welcome...

What on earth is a midnight library?

The Midnight Library is actually a series of horror books I read as a kid by Damian Graves and Nick Shadow. I thought it was about a library that was open all night. After all, to a night-owl booklover, the only flaw a library could have is the fact that they close. I thought the idea enchanting. The aesthetic of a quiet, starlit place to read and write followed me to my teen years, and is a definite inspiration to this blog's theme.

The book series was, in fact, anything but cosy, and I was perhaps a little young to be reading them. I still have nightmares about some of those stories to this day. Even so, I really liked them. I adore the way horror is written, I did then and I still do now. It was one of the first series I followed religously and my first foray into horror, which remains a staple in my media consumtion diet to this day.

Welcome to the Midnight Library, you may call me Jessica, I'll be your librarian for tonight. Stay as long as you like, we're open all night long, just make sure you get some sleep at some point.

I'm a reader, a writer, a creator. I tend to get lost in words, so midnight reading sesions are a common occurance. I'm someone who wants to dissapear into a narrative for a little while. But then, don't we all?

Want more of my nonsense?

Don't understand why, but suit yourself. Just don't stay up too late.

I am at the mercy of your judgement...
